Residential Project in Horseshoe Bay, Texas

About This Project

Date: December 2019
Location: Horseshoe Bay, Texas
Project Type: Residential

In December of 2019, we completed a residential roofing project in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. This project was very complex because of the large size of the home and how steep the roof was. The house overlooks a lake on a cliff, so the Finished Work Roofing team had to be tied to multiple safety harnesses while they were working. All the metalwork was custom fit to the home and designed to withstand the harsh weather that comes with living near a lake. The homeowner wanted a thicker metal material than their previous gray aluminum shake, so we installed a 24-gauge standing seam roof in a mansard brown color with striated panels.

The Finished Work Roofing team decided on installing striated panels because they are less prone to oil canning than other panel options. Waviness in panels is much more obvious on flat or ribbed panels, which is something we wanted to avoid. Striated panels hide oil canning much more effectively, all while adding to the architectural style and strength to the roof. Oil canning, which is a perceived waviness in metal roof panels, often happens in broad flat areas of roofing systems. Our client was very happy with their new roof and the dedication to customer service we showed.
