In March of 2017, we completed a very large project for one of our valued clients. Their home needed roofing repairs, a gutter replacement, and all vents needed to be replaced. Additionally, this project was done on a TPO flat roof, which is considered out of the norm for our typical residential projects. TPO stands for thermoplastic polyolefin, which is a single-ply roofing membrane made up of reinforcing scrim to cover a flat roof. Installing a TPO roofing system can save homeowners money on their energy bill because of their white, reflective color that keeps UV rays away from the home. Replacing the TPO for this project was necessary because of a large hailstorm with heavy rain and winds. The client had been experiencing leaking into their home because their roof was damaged. Our team took on this project to ensure the safety of the client and their home, which was achieved—all in a beautiful galvanized color.
The homeowner wanted to upgrade to commercial-grade TPO roofing from modified bitumen. Many roofing companies do not issue warranties for modified bitumen roofing systems because they only last 10 to 20 years. For circumvent roof leaking, companies only issue a standard water warrant. Finished Work Roofing does issue these warranties, as we like to keep the interests of our clients at heart.
